Transportation Media: Gameday Media & Bench Craft Company

Sports Media Guides
As a book designer for Gameday Media, I designed sports media guides for high school teams all over the US. I was responsible for every aspect of the design (cover, layout, ad placement, filler content etc.) and would handle anywhere between 30-45 books each season. To handle the tight deadlines, we built templates that could be customized. At the end of each season the books were printed and bound in-house on high quality gloss paper and shipped to the high schools where they would be distributed to the community at their first home games. Some of the sports included football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer, track and field and more.

COVERS

Designing the covers was my favorite part of putting together the media guides. I designed a custom cover for each school, each one unique and different in it’s own way. I really tried to push boundaries with these designs, keeping in-line with my strategy of engaging the audience in an unconventional way. More often than not shying WAY away from a “traditional” sports look. Every cover was revised until the school was satisfied with the final design.

MEDIA GUIDE LAYOUTS

I wanted to design the media guides in a way that would make students, faculty, friends and family excited about the season. I wanted the books to be a piece that they could look at over and over and want to keep as a special keepsake. Keeping a consistent theme throughout, I tried to make the designs as fun and varied as possible while staying parallel with current design trends.

Golf Course Yardage Books
As a book designer for Bench Craft company, I planned out and designed the yardage books for golf courses around the US and Canada. I designed the cover, the maps and scorecard within the books. I communicated directly with the golf pros and course managers and was also responsible for ad placement as well as managing content.
